Now, that's much better (Not)

1614 West Lunt has been transformed! Where once there were shoulder high weeds and litter, there now is a scalped lawn with shredded litter flakes. It actually looks like it was mowed in anger. Certainly there was no love involved.

Trash Detective is euphoric with joy. It's amazing what a call to Streets & San and a subsequent ticket will accomplish. More than a few emails to the Alderman's office seemed to. (Sorry Ward Service Office, but all I got from you were excuses and promises)

This stuff is so funny, Trash Detective could cry, but instead will laugh maniacally.

Won't someone commit to this home? It could be truly amazing. Trash Detective has heard that the interior is intact with built ins and original door hardware and what not.

Some say that if you can't afford to save an old home, you should shut your trap. I guess for them, money rules the world. Not in the world of the Trash Detective though. In the Trash Detective's world, the litter police rule.

As the weeds grow...

It seems 1610 West Lunt and 1614 West Lunt have become a pet project for the Trash Detective.

The weeds are now chest high in certain places. Trash Detective corresponded with the Alderman's office about the neglect. The weeds have continued to grow unstopped!

Seems one of the owners of these properties bled the house dry and went bankrupt (public knowledge and I'm not naming names). In the book of the cranky Trash Detective this is not relevant. That means the bank owns the property and don't try to say the bank can't afford to mow the damn weeds one a month.

Trash Detective has now resorted to being a tattle tale and calling 311 and reporting the buildings to Streets & San for ticketing. Stay tuned...

Two Thumbs Up!!!

Trash Detective gives this short film two thumbs up. Not only was it suspenseful, it carries a meaningful message about litter and what can happen to litter bugs if they don't repent.

And in a bizarre coincidence, it features an appearance by the "banana of justice."

Hat Tip to Bill Morton

Bill is another one of that I can tell walks the neighborhood. And what he sees? Oh my. This recent post gave even the Trash Detective pause.

Keep up the good work Bill. You've got quite a good documentary photage going.

Trash Detective's Guide to NOT selling real estate

Do not under any circumstances mow the weeds. Don't you dare mow those weeds. Rather make hay. Better yet if you can have litter woven through the hay.

After a hastily done and incomplete vanilla-style rehab job, do not list the property anywhere. The goal is not to sell the house. Keep the focus.

Don't forget not to trim the bushes!

It seems these two homes are in a competition, who will not sell for the longest. Trash Detective thinks they are in cahoots, and that they have a developer on the line that wants both lots to build one huge substandard structure with cinderblock accents. This fits the profile. Trash Detective has seen this before.

And don't you even think about picking up the litter. The litter is the equivalent of buyer-away, you can't get better repellent than this.

Oh, and under no circumstances should you market it on your realtor's website, someone might actually want a viewing and then it might sell (the horror).

Trash Detective has had an eye on these properties for a few years now. They have been on and off the market for a while. But are they really trying to sell them? Anyone who has ever watched an episode of Sell This House knows the answer.

Addendum: Email to Alderman's office notifying of negligence sent August 2nd. To date no reply. Re-sending email again tonight. Houses valued at $700K++ and they can't mow the weeds once a month?
